The press and Public Relations unit of LASUTH is a unit under the office of the Chief Medical Director. It is headed by Mrs. Ronke Famakinwa, a principal information officer deployed from the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Starategy. The unit is saddled with the responsibility of dealing with the publics; that is, the press, corporate organizations and the public at large. It collates feedbacks from the publics and report such to the management of the hospital.

The press and public relations department also carry out routine patient satisfaction survey; which gives the management the idea of the inner feelings of patients and how the hospital can improve the quality of services rendered. The PR department publishes a monthly Newsletter on issues pertaining to the hospital; while at the same time contributing to the LASUTH website. On a daily basis, the press and public relations unit monitors all daily news items on the print and electronic media for news pertaining to health matters in generaland LASUTH in particular.

It also the responsibility of the PR department to package events on behalf of the hospital, such as end of year activities, visit of dignitaries to the hospital, landmark events and so on. The unit maintains an up-to-photo library on behalf of the hospital. At crisis periods, such as strikes, fire disasters, major accidents etc, the Public Relations Officer is the spokes person of the hospital.
