The Department of Chemical Pathology of LASUTH is a multidispliciary department comprising of:
(A) Consultants
(B) Laboratory Scientists
(C) Laboratory Technicians
(D) Laboratory Assistants
(E) Administrative Officers.
THE FOCUS OF THIS DEPARTMENT
-To provide suitable/reliable Laboratory support for the specialties in LASUTH and environs of Lagos state.
-To reach medical students and Residents Doctors and Students on Industrial Training on Laboratory studies.
-To run Clinic(s) related to subject matters such as Obesity Clinic, Metabolic Clinic etc.
-Research on relevant medical matters/subjects.
THE CLINIC
Presently, The Clinic is not functioning. But it is an integral part of the various functions/job of a Chemical Pathology .

The Administrative Officers assist in the administrative day to day running of the Department.
In the Central Laboratory there is an auto analyzer called CX5 PRO which provides analyses of out requested samples in a reliable and speedy way in words with good turn around time. Also available are other equipments such as semi auto analyzer as back up for the main autoanalyser.
The Laboratory is a dynamic one in the sense that the new changes and innovation from time to time. There is Conferences and update workshops for Staff members from time to time.
In the near future, it is believed that there will be up to date side laboratories in the Hospital which will liaise with the central Laboratory in the Hospital.
