The Dental department of LASUTH is made up of the following units.
• Oral diagnosis and Oral radiology / Oral medicine
• Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
• Restorative/ Prosthetics dentistry.
• Orthodontics / Paediatric dentistry
• Prosthetic/ Dental laboratory.
• Prevevtive dentistry / Periodontics/Dental Therapy.
The Dental Surgeons are assisted in the clinical duties by Dental Technicians (clinical) and Dental Laboratory Technologist who fabricate dental appliances on the instructions of the Dental Surgeon.
At present the department is accredited by the National Postgraduate Medical College to train general dental practitioners at fellowship level.
